HOW WE BEGAN

Put simply, Lydia Cockrell is obsessed with the way things look.

 

After about fifteen years of helping C-suite executives communicate their creative visions, Lydia realized that this wasn't just a side project. This was a gap in the industry.

 

Traditionally, executives and creatives don't communicate well. Executives see it in their head: they want the design to be more captivating, more engaging... they want it to 'pop'. And creatives? They're just not often on board. Their work is good, but slow. It's considered and clean, but doesn't capture the busy mind of the leader. 

 

With more than two decades in design and marketing, Lydia has operated at the intersection of executive strategy and high-level aesthetics. Though she has led global creative teams as a Creative Director, she remains a practicing designer, illustrator, letterer, and photographer. Her work has taken her to more than 40 countries, directing multidisciplinary teams and shaping visual systems that elevate both brand and experience. She leads the team at Druthers to do the same. 

 

Lydia is known equally for high-end branding and for directing luxury events where precision, discretion, and visual coherence matter. She has created environments and experiences for leaders across business, athletics, politics, media, and the arts — individuals whose standards are high and whose time is limited.

 

She holds bachelor’s degrees in Studio Art and Digital Art, Theatrical Production, and Music, a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, and advanced certification in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. In addition to her client work, she teaches graduate-level courses in design, illustration, and typography — training the next generation to think as carefully as they create.
